Call UsGreene Land & Light has been working in the landscaping and outdoor lighting industry for over 15 years, and we do it because we LOVE to do it.
All of our work is created with a special touch that helps transform your property into an outdoor oasis that is truly illuminated into a work of art. We use only the best fixtures on the market, the best installation practices, and have the best warranty in the industry because we take pride and stand behind our work! A rare family-owned business for over a decade.
Can you tell us about your business?
We primarily focus on landscape lighting, architectural lighting and landscaping in South Florida. We started out in Misssouri some 10 years ago focusing on only lawn care, eventually evolving into landscaping, and then lighting. We moved all operations to Florida in February 2024.
How did you get into the landscape lighting business?
It was suggested to me at a trade show about 7 years ago. I looked into it and quickly became fascinated by the endless uses on properties and opportunities it offered.
What percentage of your business is landscape lighting/what other services do you provide (ie: landscaping, irrigation, electrical…)?
60% lighting. 30% landscaping. 10% lawn care. (Would love to get it to 90%+ lighting!!!)
How long have you been installing landscape lighting?
6 years.
What AMP products do you prefer to use? Which fixtures are your favorite?
I use all the brass fixtures. Great quality. Favorites are Pinnacle Pros, puck lights, the mr16 rgbcw bulbs, and any of the SlimLine transformers (nothing beats the quick connects on them).
What tips or tricks have you learned that have benefited your work from a design/installation perspective?
Getting pictures of the house via google car street view before I’m out to give an estimate, so I can think on the design before I’m there. Knowing the angles ahead of time helps me mentally map at least some of the property.
Tell me about your sales process. How do you find your customers? What is your sales process? Do you use sales tools such as a free demo…
Marketing is still a work in progress but gaining steam! Using a marketing company now. I do have a demo kit but have not used it much, however I always offer to set one up for free. My pictures/videos and social media are the most important part of my sales process.
Where do you find inspiration for your lighting designs?
I used to look at the numerous neighborhoods we serviced and would take note of the designs and build off them and see what could be improved. I also looked through all of the manufacturer's magazines at the pictures and would study them.
What do you feel is the most personally rewarding part of installing a lighting system for a client?
The most rewarding part of installing a system is getting the clients out in the yard when the system comes on and seeing and hearing their reaction. The wow factor for lighting is unmatched when compared to landscaping and lawn care work.
Tell us a little bit about you personally: What do you like to do outside of work? What are your hobbies?
I love to camp, fish, boat, or really anything outdoors with my wife and kids. We spend a lot of time on the road traveling to national parks and remote parts of the country when I’m not working.
