• SSID (network name) of the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network on which the system will be running
• Password for the above network
• Email address that the homeowner intends to use to operate their system upon successful installation

Both. The system uses Wi-Fi to connect the transformer to the cloud, then it uses an advanced Bluetooth mesh network to connect all of the fixtures and devices together and to the transformer.

In optimal conditions, a transformer can be placed up to 200’ from your Wi-Fi router and still get a reliable signal. However, signal range can be affected by various factors, from man-made materials such as brick and concrete to natural obstacles such as trees and large elevation differences.

Fixtures can be placed up to 75’ away from each other in optimal conditions and still receive a reliable signal. The Bluetooth mesh that AMP iQ™ creates is a self-healing, redundant network of devices that repeat signals from device to device. So, the more devices in your system, the more robust your signal network becomes. And while  signal range will always be affected by various factors, from man-made materials such as brick and concrete to natural obstacles such as trees and large elevation differences, AMP iQ’s mesh network approach provides a reliable way to overcome any signal issues.

While there will be an additional current draw from the circuitry powering the communications circuits, the difference is minimal.

While temperature extremes have little to no effect on wireless communication, extreme amounts of rain may affect the range.

As far as building materials go, brick and concrete tend to be the least friendly to wireless signals. However, it’s hard to say for sure without understanding the full context of everything else involved in the installation.

The transformer should be oriented such that the antenna is on the top (i.e., right side up) and as unobstructed as possible.  For example, avoid installing the transformer in close proximity to large metal objects such as behind a freezer in the garage.
