How are fixtures added to the system?
During the onboarding / pairing process the AMP iQ™ devices automatically appear in the app. Tap each device to associate it with the user account. Once they are onboarded, they are ready to be assigned to zones and groups.
Can fixtures be renamed?
Yes. Devices should be named based on their location or function for easier service and control. Examples: Path Light BY1 (Path Light, Back Yard #1) or Spotlight BY OAK1 (Spotlight, Back Yard under Oak Tree #1)
Can a single fixture be included in multiple groups?
Yes, a single fixture can be part of multiple groups, allowing for flexible control options.
Can fixtures be reassigned to different zones?
Yes. Fixtures can be moved between zones at any time through the app. However, a fixture cannot reside in 2 different zones.
What happens if a fixture is replaced?
Power on the new fixture and add it to the system. Assign it to the appropriate zone, group, scene or automation.
Does AMP iQ™ support RGBCW color?
Yes. AMP iQ™ color fixtures support millions of colors and brightness levels.
Can white color temperature be adjusted?
Yes. Tunable white allows adjustment from anywhere from warm white to cool white. Preset CCTs include: 2200K, 2500K, 2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K.
Can custom colors be saved?
Yes. Contractors or homeowners can save custom colors for future use.
Can different fixtures run different colors or brightness levels?
Yes. Each individual fixture, group, or scene can be programmed independently.
Can systems run automatically at sunset and sunrise?
Yes. AMP iQ™ uses the location of the home or installation to automatically track sunset and sunrise times.
Do schedules adjust seasonally?
Yes. Schedules update automatically as daylight hours change.
Can different schedules be used on different days?
Yes. Weekday, weekend, and custom schedules are supported.
Can multiple Scenes and Zones be scheduled?
Yes. Different Scenes, Zones, or groups can run at different times of day.
What is Music Mode?
Music Mode allows fixtures to sync color and brightness along to music. Music mode works with individual fixtures and groups. For the music, it uses the microphone on your phone or device running the app.
What is the difference between Jump and Breath?
- Jump produces fast, dynamic color changes.
- Breath produces smooth, gradual transitions.
Can custom music effects be created?
Yes. Installers or homeowners can create custom music modes.
Can systems be controlled remotely?
Yes. If the Gateway is connected to Wi-Fi, the system can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
Can multiple users be added?
Yes. Homeowners, property managers, and contractors can be granted access.
Can contractors retain access after installation?
Yes. This allows for remote support, adjustments, and system upgrades. The contractor may be given Administrative Permissions from the Homeowner. The Homeowner controls all permissions; permission can also be added for a contractor on an as needed basis.
Is there a hierarchy of permissions inside the app?
Yes, the AMP iQ™ app uses a tiered permission structure to control access and system management:
Account Owner – Highest level of access. Can create, modify, and delete all system settings, manage automations, and grant user permissions.
Administrator – Typically the AMP Pro professional installer. Has full access to set up, test, maintain, and troubleshoot the entire AMP iQ™ system.
Common User – Can turn lights on and off but cannot modify settings, Devices, or Automations
Does AMP iQ™ support Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant?
Yes. Alexa or Google offer voice commands to control the devices.
What functions can be controlled by voice?
On/off, Scene, and Zones and other commands.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The lighting system continues to operate locally via Bluetooth. Only remote access and cloud services, like automations, are unavailable.
What happens if Wi-Fi goes down?
Local lighting control to work, however automations and scheduling will not work until Wi-Fi and Gateway function are returned.
Is there a limit to how large an area the AMP iQ™ system can be installed?
The Bluetooth mesh network creates a robust connectivity system and expands with each fixture or repeater added, allowing coverage across large properties. The only limit is the distance between devices.
How many fixtures are supported?
AMP iQ™ supports large, multizone installations.
How many devices can be assigned to a single Gateway?
127 devices can be assigned to a single Gateway. Properties may also have multiple Gateways.
How are firmware updates delivered?
If required, an update notification would be sent through the app.
Is the system secure?
Yes. AMP iQ™ uses encrypted communication and a secure U.S.-based servers.

What is a Scene?
A Scene is a complete lighting setting that defines which fixtures are on, their colors, and their brightness.
How many Scenes are supported?
Virtually unlimited. There is no practical limit.
Does the AMP iQ™ app include preset effects for holidays?
Yes, preset holiday effects are included in the app, Effects include: Christmas, Hanukkah, St. Patrick’s Day, Valentines Day, Halloween and Patriotic.
What is a Dynamic Effect?
A Dynamic Effect (Dynamic Scene) is a programmable dynamic scene created from individual fixtures or groups, Dynamic Effects automatically transition through multiple colors, brightness levels, and effects over time. Unlike a static Scene, a Dynamic Scene is animated and time-based.
How is a Dynamic Effect (Dynamic Scene) different from a Static Scene?
A static Scene applies one fixed lighting look which can consist of many fixtures, colors and brightness levels. A Dynamic Effect continuously changes the lighting based on a programmed sequence. Options include Static, Flash and Breathe. Dynamic Effects are limited to 8 colors.
If I have two properties, am I able to have both systems on my phone under a single login?
Yes, the AMP iQ™ app allows you to have multiple properties under the same login/account.
What can I control in a Dynamic Effect?
Each Dynamic Scene allows you to control:
- Starting color
- Ending color
- Transition style static, flash or breathe
- Speed of each transition
Can I use different colors on different fixtures?
While you can assign up to eight colors in a Dynamic Effect, all fixtures will be the same color during the play time of the effect.
Can Dynamic Scenes be scheduled?
No, they will be triggered manually from the individual device or group.
Can I create holiday or event lighting using Dynamic Effects?
Yes. Dynamic Effects are ideal for:
- Holiday color rotation
- Sports team colors
- Party and entertainment lighting
- Seasonal effects
Can homeowners modify custom Dynamic Effects after installation?
Yes. Homeowners can adjust colors, timing, and transitions at any time using the app. The Preset Dynamic Effects that come with the app cannot be modified.
Does activating Dynamic Effects impact system performance?
Occasionally there may be some minor lag/latency depending on the installation and signal strength of devices. Most installations will not see any issues.
